Weekly Menu Plan Week of May 17-23, 2020

Hi there!  Another week has flown by.  Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend!  No race here in Indianapolis this year, which makes me sad.  But hopefully it will happen later this summer.  I had kind of a busy week, cleaning and cooking and going to a little mini-graduation celebration for my granddaughter.  Just family, but we wanted to celebrate her last day of high school!  Before I know it, the summer will be over and she will be off to college.  Seems impossible!   They all grow up so fast.

This week I'm a little frustrated.  My freezer has filled up with a bunch of stuff I never will use, and don't even know why I bought it.  Does that ever happen to you?  I sift through all the food in there, and I find bags of some kind of quick bread I've made and frozen.  I didn't label it, so I have no idea if it's gluten free or not.  I have a bunch of packages of frozen veggies like edamame, that sorry, I don't like, and have no idea why I bought them.  I have several bags of almond flour, which I will use, but they take up so much space! I have about 10 packages of Reames frozen egg noodles, which I tend to buy when I see them because my entire family loves chicken noodle soup with Reames frozen egg noodles.  Except I never use them, because then I can't eat the soup.  So I use rice noodles instead, and just keep buying the frozen egg noodles for some reason.  Also, we have several large cartons of ice cream that hopefully we will eat soon as the weather warms up.  I have got to get that freezer cleared out without wasting food!  So I am trying to use up some of it this week so I can make room for some meat that I need.   I really need to be better organized!

So here is this week's menu plan.  Nothing real fancy, but I am looking forward to making these meals!

Weekly Menu Plan for May 10-16, 2020

Hello!  And a belated Happy Mother's Day to you!  Sorry this is a day late, AGAIN!  But, I DID post this yesterday, and promptly took it off.  It was a mess.  I tried using Google Docs to make my menu plan, and it looked JUST FINE on Google Docs.  When I tried to embed it in this post.....what a mess!  I played with it for almost 2 hours, and the best I could get was a picture of it where the writing was so small, you would never have been able to read it.  Obviously, I need help of some kind, but where I'll get it Heaven knows!  In the meantime, I will keep listing it.  And I'm sorry for that, because it is kind of hard to read, I think.

Even though it is a day late, I'll still start with Sunday.  Maybe you will like something from Sunday and use it on another day in the week.  Or just skip it!

Here is my plan for the week:

Sunday:
Breakfast:  Gluten Free Blueberry Scones,  Bacon, Ambrosia Salad
Dinner:  Grilled Cheeseburgers, Broccoli Cauliflower Salad, Chips, Pickles
Dessert:  Banana Pudding   (NOT gluten free but my family LOVES❤❤❤it!)

Monday:
Breakfast:  Egg and Sausage English Muffin, Hash Brown Patties (from frozen), Strawberries
Dinner:  Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Tossed Salad, Garlic Bread
Dessert:  Leftover Banana Pudding

Tuesday:
Breakfast:  Peanut Butter Toast, String Cheese, Oatmeal, Sliced Apples
Dinner:  Gluten Free Orange Chicken, Rice, Egg Rolls
Dessert:  Pig Pickin' Cake

Wednesday:
Breakfast:  Breakfast Burritos (from frozen), Hash Brown Patties (from frozen), Banana
Dinner:  Country Fried Steak with Country Gravy (from Sams Club frozen), Mashed Potatoes, Corn
Dessert:  Leftover Cake

Thursday:
Breakfast:  Cereal, Gluten Free Pop Tarts, Banana
Dinner:  Crockpot Swedish Meatballs, Leftover Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans (I use gluten free egg noodles and gluten free cream of mushroom soup)
Dessert:  Ice Cream

Friday:
Breakfast:  French Toast Sticks (from frozen), Cottage Cheese and Pineapple
Dinner:  Grilled Sausages and Hot Dogs, Orange Tapioca Salad, Chips

Saturday:
Breakfast:  Gluten Free Breakfast Casserole, Grapefruit Half
Dinner:  Chicken Noodle Soup, Crackers, Tossed Salad
Dessert:  Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie  (not gluten free, but again, my family loves this pie!)

That's a wrap for this week's menu plan!  I sure hope you find a recipe or two to try out on your family, or you get some ideas of what to serve!  I think it's a challenge to keep cooking every meal at home, and I know I rely on having a plan ahead of time.  Have a great week, all!

Weekly Menu Plan for May 3-9, 2020

I am really off schedule the past few days!  We had a rather busy weekend, and today it all caught up with me!  I was just worn out from doing some spring cleaning and baking.  But after a short nap this afternoon, I am feeling much more energized!

I am still goofing around trying to find a good format for my menu plans, but so far nothing is really what I wanted.  It takes me a lot of time fiddling around with new things, and so far I have tried several different formats, but they are just too time-consuming.  So today I decided I will work on Google Docs this week, and see what I can come up with.

For this week, I am just making a list again.  Mostly, because I'm out of time!  So here is what we are having this week:

Sunday:

Breakfast:
Oatmeal
 English Muffins
 Bananas

Dinner:
Chicken Fried Rice from Asian At Home
(This was DELICIOUS!  I used gluten free soy sauce, and no oyster sauce because I couldn't find any that was gluten free.  Still good!  She has a you tube channel, and you can watch her make it there also.  One of my favorites!)
Egg Rolls
Sliced Strawberries

Monday:

Breakfast:
Breakfast Burrito - I use frozen
Clementines

Dinner:
Parmesan Crusted Chicken from Cincy Shopper
Buttered Egg Noodles (I use gluten free egg noodles)
Broccoli
Boston Cream Pie Poke Cake from The Country Cook - NOT gluten free

Tuesday:

Breakfast:
Scrambled Eggs with Cheese
Hash Brown Patties (I use frozen)
Toast
Sliced Strawberries

Dinner:
Crockpot Enchilada Chicken from Sunkissed Kitchen
(I use a jar of enchilada sauce instead of making it my own, and serve it in Gluten Free Mission soft tortilla shells, rolled up like a burrito.  Sometimes I just serve it in a bowl with tortilla dips for dipping.  Either way it is good!)
Spanish Rice
Corn

Wednesday:

Breakfast:
Oatmeal
Toast with Peanut Butter
String Cheese
Banana

Dinner:
Grilled Cheeseburgers
Baked Beans from Frugal Hausfrau
Pickles
Copycat Ruby Tuesday's Pasta Salad from Pear Tree Kitchen
(I use gluten free penne pasta)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Pie from Marilyn's Treats

Thursday:

Breakfast:
Cold cereal
Bananas
Gluten Free Mocha Muffins from What The Fork Food Blog

Dinner:
Easy Baked Pork Chops from Yellow Bliss Road
Zatarain's Spanish Rice
Corn

Friday:

Breakfast:
Bagels with Honey Pecan Cream Cheese
Hard Boiled Eggs
Orange Slices

Dinner:
20 Minute Rotisserie Chicken and Rice Soup from Back To The Book Nutrition
Cheese and Crackers

Saturday:

Breakfast:
Scrambled Eggs
Turkey Bacon
Toast

Dinner:
Grilled Sirloin Steaks from The Cozy Cook
Baked Potatoes
Green Beans
Gluten Free Pizookies from Gluten Free On A Shoestring
(These are my favorites!  And since this is our Mother's Day celebration the night before Mother's Day, I am indulging!)

Can you tell I have a lot of chicken in my freezer this week? 😉  We are going to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday night, so we are splurging on steaks and dessert!  If you have never had a pizookie, you should try this recipe!  If you don't need a gluten free one, just google pizookies and you'll find some great recipes!
If you haven't followed me on Pinterest yet, take a look at my boards and see if there is something you like!
Have a great week!  Hoping you find something here that you like or can use in your recipe rotations!
