Menu Plan for August 9-15, 2020

Hi there!  Here we are, heading towards the middle of August, and we had just wonderful weather last week!  Very cool and not humid, just perfect for being outside.  This coming week, not so much!  Back to the heat and humidity.

School starts this week for the grandkids, so they are excited as they can be!  They haven't been in school since March, because of COVID, so they are happy to be with their friends and teachers they love!  One just moved to college this weekend, the other will be a junior in high school, and the little one is a 4th grader this year.  Lots of changes to the way they usually do things, but I think they will adapt just fine.

This week's menu plan is on the easy side, due to a busy week.  I still watch the little one before and after school, so it cuts my dinner prep time to not much!  So I have to do most of the prep during the day while they are at school.  Hopefully we will all stay healthy and have a better year this year than last year!

Here is my menu plan for the week:

Notes and recipe links are below.

Sunday:

Gluten Free Pineapple Upside Down Cake is from Betty Crocker

Tuesday:

Disney's Grey Stuff is from Mantitlement

Wednesday:

Crockpot Roast Beef is from The Slow-Roasted Italian

French Silk Pie is from The Recipe Rebel

Thursday:

Gluten Free Sweet and Sour Chicken is from Recipes

Friday:

Gluten Free Chocolate Muffins are from Mama Knows Gluten Free

Instant Pot Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin is from Slimming Eats

Gluten Free Devil's Food Cake is from Fearless Dining

Saturday:

Gluten Free Waffles are from Mama Knows Gluten Free

And that's it for this week!  Hope you find a recipe or two to try out!  Have a great week!

This week's menu plan - update

Hello there!

Well, I am stumped.  I keep getting emails saying that people are having trouble viewing my menus, and/or that the links don't work.  So I have tried viewing it on different tablets and different computers, and it always works for me!  So I am stumped!  I don't know how this is happening, but what I do know is that I feel so bad for people who are trying to see it but can't.

So I am going to revamp this thing.  I like using Google Sites, but if it doesn't work for everyone, then what's the point?  I will come up with a new strategy!  But for this week, I decided to just post the menu plan right here.  That way you can see it right here, and hopefully by next week I will come up with a plan that works!

Here is this week's menu plan:

Saturday Breakfast:  Oatmeal, Apple Slices, Bacon
Saturday Dinner:  Grilled Hamburgers, Corn on the Cob, Chips

So there you have it!  Now for me, back to the drawing board!  Hope you have a good week!

Weekly Menu Plan for Aug 2-8, 2020

So here we are in August already!  I am continuing with the same format as last week.

I have found that using Google Sites to post my menu is working, at least for me.  I had a comment from someone last week that the links were not working, but when I checked it they all worked.

Has anyone else had that problem?  If so, would you please let me know?  I would appreciate it!

This week, I am trying to use the grill a few times, to keep the heat out of the kitchen.  It's been pretty hot here!  Salads and sandwiches are what I like to make when it's hot.  Nothing too heavy, it just doesn't taste good to me now!  But in the fall......back to baking!

CLICK HERE for this week's menu plan.

I plan on posting the whole month's menu plan on the same page using Google Sites, so at the end of the month you can see the whole month's menus!  That should give you some more ideas, if you need some!

Have a great week!

Weekly Menu Plan Week of July 19-25, 2020

Hi there!  I'm back with another try at this menu planning thingy!

I have been working on it, trying to make it so that I can like it and can use it, and I'm getting closer!  Here is what is different than the last time:  I tried to change the size, hope that works!  And I think I have the links working, if I can just get it embedded in the post.  I have no idea if it will work until I actually publish it.

So here goes!

This week's menu is mostly gluten free, but the Crockpot Chicken and Noodles is NOT gluten free.  But my family loves it.  So on that day, I will probably eat leftovers or make myself a sandwich.  If the recipe you click on is not gluten free, and you want it to be, just substitute gluten free pasta, or gluten free mushroom or chicken soup.  Sometimes when I make recipes that call for noodles, I just make the meat part and pour it over mashed potatoes.  It all depends on what I have in the pantry.  But be creative, you can make almost any recipe gluten free by subbing or omitting certain ingredients.

If you would like a printable copy of this week's menu plan, CLICK HERE.

Hopefully, now, you can click on the links to the recipes within the slide.  I think I may have to break down and install Microsoft Office to make it totally the way I want it, but this will have to do in the meantime!

If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this better, please leave me a comment!  Hope you have a good week, and can find a recipe or two you like!

Weekly Menu Plan June 28-July 4, 2020

Happy Fourth of July Week!

Sorry I missed posting last week, I was busy with helping my daughter get ready for my granddaughter's graduation party.  Now I'm just tired!  The party was Saturday, all went well despite the rain, and now hopefully things will slow down a bit for the rest of the summer.

I will try to post next week's menu plan a few days early, since we are having visitors over the weekend.  That is my plan right now, anyway!

So, I tried Google slides again.  I am still not proficient at it by any means, but I am hoping when I try posting it here on the blog it will work.  So let's give it a try!

Here is this week's menu plan:

Hmmm.  Not what I was expecting it to look like.  But for this week, you can make it work.  And the links will work on the slide.  I think.  You need to scroll over to see the dessert column.

I see I will need to work on this again.  But it's not too terrible for one week!  So give it a go this week, and I will try to work on it again for next week.  What I am trying for, is the menu plan with the clickable links working on the picture of the menu plan.  If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me!  If not, I will keep trying!

Have a great week!  I will hopefully be posting next week's menu in a few days!

Menu Plan for Week of June 14-20, 2020

I wish I was there!  At the beach, I mean!  I don't know why, but I've been craving going to the beach this past week.  We have vacationed at the Outer Banks several times, and I just love it there.  I am longing to go again, and smell the ocean, and feel those warm ocean breezes.  Ahhh, I can just feel it.  Maybe next year, when things are looking up.  I also love to shop there!  I could write pages about all the cute shops and restaurants they have!  I must make a plan to go next year!

Sorry the menu is a day late.  I don't know what I was doing yesterday, but I totally forgot to post this. Anyway, the format seemed to work a little better than just listing everything, and I like being able to print out a plan and hang it on my fridge.  That way I can prep things ahead of time.  I will still try to keep improving it, because I know there's lots of room for improvement!

Here is this week's menu plan.  Links and notes are below.
For a printable copy, please click HERE.

Italian Chopped Salad is from A Farmgirl's Dabbles

Thursday:

Meatloaf is from Spend With Pennies - I use gluten free breadcrumbs

Friday:

Gluten Free Doughnut Holes are from Frugal Farm Wife
